1678 NSS KARAYOGAM, PUNNORKODE
Nair Service Society is a unit that was registered on November 22, 1949 with registration number 1678. Initially, its area of operation included Punnorkode, Kaithakkadu, Choorakode, Njaralloor, Erumeli, and Pazhamthottam. Later, when new Karayogams were formed in the combined areas, the area of operation was reduced to include only Punnorkode, Pazhamthottam and a few parts of Njaralloor, and we have been carrying out the Karayogam activities.
In 1984, the N.S.S. Vanitha Samajam at Punnorkode was established under registration number 800. By 1989-90, with the active participation of the women from families associated with the Karayogam, the Samajam had diversified its activities and achieved significant progress. This success enabled the Samajam to secure a respectable position at both the Karayogam and union levels through its focused efforts to ensure financial stability.
Mannam Balasamajam was registered on August 9, 1993 as the first Balasamajam in Kunnathanadu NSS Union (Reg. No. 181). It functions under the Punnorkode NSS Karayogam. Membership is offered to Children above 5years and below 18 years. Currently our Balasamajam has 75 members. For the past 31 years we have been conducting monthly general body and annual conferences regularly.
About Five decades. on July 5, 1971 (1146 Mithunam 21), the Sree Bhadra Bhagwatly Kshetram was Constructed on a 75 cent plot of Land owned by the Karayogam. Brahmasree Constructed under the leadership of Brahmasree Madassi Mana Prameswaran Namboothirippadu. The temple was consecrated with the installation of Devi idol, marking a significant milestone.
