SREEBHADRA BHAGAVATHY TEMPLE
About Five decades. on July 5, 1971 (1146 Mithunam 21), the Sree Bhadra Bhagwatly Kshetram was Constructed on a 75 cent plot of Land owned by the Karayogam. Brahmasree Constructed under the leadership of Brahmasree Madassi Mana Prameswaran Namboothirippadu. The temple was consecrated with the installation of Devi idol, marking a significant milestone.
Though the temple was a boon for the locality, gradually its decline had affected the prosperity and health of the land and its people. Due to the lack of proper attention, the divine energy of the temple had weakened, as revealed by the Devaprasna. This necessitated remedial measures. Considering this as a timely opportunity, the Karayogam unanimously decided to undertake renovation and restoration work to
restore the temples past glory.
A long-standing demand for a committee solely for temple administration led to the formation of the 11 member Temple Committee under the Karayogam on December 25, 2008. Through Committees efforts the Temple’s renovation became a historic event, accomplish within a short span of time. The old Sreekovil completely demolished and reconstructed with a new one. The foundation stone for the new Sreekovil was laid on April 23, 2009 and it was built within Two and a half months. The new Sreekovil was consecrated after performing remedial rituals from July 6 to 9, 2009. The re-installation of Devi idol took place on July 10, 2009. Subsequently the renovation of the Valiyambalam, Thidappilly, Balikalpura, Namaskara Mandapam, were carried out in phases. Additionally, the construction of the Anapanthal. Prathikshana Vari, Nadavazhi, Althara, Chuttumathil, Nilavara and office building were also completed.
Alankara Gopuram
The Alankara Gopuram, a valuable offering of the Thekkappara families is a majestic structure that stands proudly in front of the temple. This magnificent Gopuram was built under the leadership of Shri. T. G. Achuthan Nair, a devotee of the Goddess. The Gopuram was Constructed with the collective efforts of the Thekkappara families and was completed within a short span of time. It was dedicated to the Goddess on March 7, 2011. Subsequently in 2015, an auditorium named Sree Bhadra Navarathri Mandapam was built and dedicated. Further additions include a Nada Panthal donated by V.R. Ravindran Nair, a large Deepasthambham Donated by Erode M. Mani N.V.S. Chennai and The Tile work of Anapanthal was donated by V.B. Mohanan Pillai.
Since 2015, the Navarathri Mahotsavam has been celebrated annually, lasting for 10 ten days with programs of Several Celebrities of various art forms in Sree Bhadra Navarathri Mandapam The temple celebrates it annual festival during the month of “Kumbham’ specifically on the days of Uthrattathi, Revathi, Aswathi and Bharani. The Bharani day is particularly significant, as it features a grand Guruthi Ceremony (12 offerings) in the night which is a special attraction. Booking for this Ceremony are full till 2035.
