BALASAMAJAM

Mannam Balasamajam was registered on August 9, 1993 as the first Balasamajam in Kunnathanadu NSS Union (Reg. No. 181). It functions under the Punnorkode NSS Karayogam. Membership is offered to Children above 5years and below 18 years. Currently our Balasamajam has 75 members. For the past 31 years we have been conducting monthly general body and annual conferences regularly. Our annual conferences is celebrated as Deepavali Sammelanam on Deepavali festival day. To meet expenses of our annual celebration, we conduct a Benefit Fund. The amount collected from this fund is utilized for the aforementioned purposes. The Vanitha Samajam Committee has been supporting us in conducting this Benefit Fund. We also organize a Ramayana recitation Competition and Ramagana Quiz at our Temple. Every year on Vijayadasami day, we organize sports and games competitions for Children. To foster the literary interest of our Balasamajam Members, we have been publishing a hand written Magazine called “Thoolika” for past 13 years to promote reading habits among our members we also maintain a librarary.

The 25th Anniversary (Silver Jubilee) celebration of our balasamajam were inaugurated on May 1st 2018 by the Taluk Union president Adv. K. Sreesakumar. Subsequent events included an Aksharasloka Sadass, Painting competition, Cultural Programs and Sports competition for Balasamajam members. The concluding ceremony of Silver Jubliee celebrations was hel on November 6th 2018. The Taluk Union president  Adv. Sreesakumar presided over the function, in the presence of the committee members of the Taluk Union and others. We extend our gratitude to the Karayogam committee and Vanithasamajam committee for their whole hearted support and co-operation in our activities.
